Chevrolet Avalanche : 2009 Model

The 2009 Chevrolet Avalanche comes with a new 6 speed automatic transmission, heavy duty trailering package and a new Luxury package. It is a reconfigurable pick up truck which is a crew crab version of Chevrolet’s Suburban SUV having a folding midgate which separates the cab and the cargo bed. You can extend the bed to 8.2 ft by lowering the midgate. It can hold up to six people and comes in LS, LT and LTZ trims. Each trim comes with rear wheel drive or full time 4 wheel drive which can be left engaged on dry pavement and includes a low range gear for off roading. The 2WD Avalanche is a 320 hp 5.3 lt V8 engine where as the 4WD is a 310 hp version of same engine. Both the models are capable of running on E85 ethanol blended fuel. On LT and LTZ models it is a 388 hp 6.0 liter V8. the engines have GM’s Active Fuel Management cylinder deactivation.

The maximum towing capacity of this truck is 8100 lb. the safety features include ABS, traction control, antiskid system and curtain side airbags. Other features are navigation system and DVD entertainment. Real traffic information can be known with the navigation system.
