Fiat Trucks Were Part of National DevelopmentFiat Trucks Were Part of National Development, In the ’50s, Venezuela experienced a process of development and transformation through the construction of modern highways and buildings that constituted the real issues of architecture, such as the Universidad Central de Venezuela, Centro Simón Bolívar, Caracas-Highway Guaira, Caracas cable car and the Hotel Humboldt, among others.

It was a time marked by immigration from Europe specifically programmed, allowing the formation of a melting pot of new generations, mostly Italians, Spanish and Portuguese.

In 1954, Fiat trucks were incorporated into the national development process in all sectors, thanks to Di Mase, CA, company that began with their importation and subsequent assembly in the country. So the models were 619-N, 150-MW, 260-MW and 643-EP. In the late 1970s were introduced two new models the 190-MW and 693-N7 Super, examples of diesel power, even still, continue to serve tirelessly. 682 N3 model year 1976 is a glaring example of that past.

A pioneer truck

Its European design with cab-forward, made the difference between Fiat and other trucks.

Copy of Italian builders SDC10939Los promoted the purchase of trucks. Fontanese Lazarus, owner of Carriage SAET, was the first to buy 10 trucks FIAT and thanks to him, started to become the Fiat name in our country. ALES was a company carrying heavy loads, such as oil pipelines and construction machinery, Taco, among others. Fontanese was the first entrepreneur who had organized the transportation business vision and grew to about 1000 units. Similarly, Transport YELAMO had that vision and it led him to work for many years with the oil sector.

Luiggi Miglieti with N3-55 N1, was the only one that raised its Fiat trucks for the difficult road of Mount Avila to bring materials for the construction of the Humboldt Hotel, an icon of our capital.

Fiat is one of the flagship trucks in our country, very special for four reasons: its distinctive red color, its flat deck, the European technology in its time and the resistance to hard work. His original pieces are now part of the past, but their owners manage to make changes in boxes, motors and what it takes to continue the struggle, because they are confident that their trucks are still responding to work.
