Ford LTL 9000Models of the brand Ford Trucks have long been limited to the Ford Louisville LN8000 of AMT, in some re-runs as Ford as a Snowplow or caste structure appeared. This truck belonged to but not to the heavy trucks in Class 8 from 14.85 tonnes but, depending on the version in the smaller classes 6 or 7.

Italeri 1993, finally brought the kit No. 728 to “U.S. Truck Ford 9000″ on the market. For the model, it was now possible, a Ford LTL 9000 build of the truckers in the U.S. as the “Workhorse” was due to its reliability, even under adverse circumstances.



The assembly of the LTL 9000 was by and large out-of-the-box with a few minor refinements. In the usual solid performance, the first fully assembled chassis, then primed and then with semi gloss black from the spray painted. The development of the details of the chassis was made by brush. The spring packages (Parts 55 – 58) and air (Parts 45 – 52) on the rear axle has been discontinued matte black, as is the rear axle, the shaft and various small parts. The doppelläufige exhaust pipe and the Vorschalldämpfer (Parts 196 – 199) were deleted and the dark gray diesel tanks received a matt black coating from highly plastic to remove the defective shimmer. Also on the rim was thinned paint which upset one (I think) beautiful sculptural effect is achieved. This Fifth Wheel has been designed with easy to move from the top pins inserted.

The rigid Plastikmudflaps (Part 125) wandered into the dustbin and were self-made bicycle from Mudflaps Rubber hose replaced. The massive chrome bumper was replacement by a better-fitting style bumper from the grab bag. The relatively thin pipes were attached according to blueprints, but others were Miter Cut Stacks. Much thicker pipes had the better 9000 LTL confessed, but could not be mounted, otherwise the doors would trigger. The slices of the high roof sleeper-were from the inside with a bronze-colored adhesive tape industry, and the tinted doors Decals came from Central State Trucking, where the states Texas, Kansas, Oklahoma and Louisiana in the stylized logo are yellow. Ready to make built 9000′er a good figure, with a total length of 34cm, a height of almost 15cm and 10.6 cm wide, he brings an impressive appearance in the showcase.

Yellow, a bright green and ocher tones have a relationship to happiness and satisfaction, because in nature plants and flowers are synonymous with beauty and be fed. Blue and white, however, with cold and ice related, as this is the color of water and snow, while red with comfort, warmth, but also in relation to risk of fire is set. Brown and dark green with Mother Earth, and thus harmony and tranquility compared. As already mentioned, this is a purely natural object dependencies, because the color red is not warmer than blue and white is not as innocent green.

The styling of Ford LTL 9000 with the powerful engine and the large grille almost required for a “serious” color, which is the massive appearance of the trucks would have underlined, but I decided for an alternative. Lila is a wonderful and fresh color, but very rarely to be seen on trucks. The color is the angular contours of the large trucks some of its hardness, but still all the details and subtleties of the model for validity. The LTL 9000, the Lila best and it was probably the right choice. I like it at night and trucks are all gray.
